Let's Pretend This Title is Clever

Hello Mia! I would like to thank you for letting me hack your blog. It took a while because I couldn't figure out how to work your blog. OKAAAAAAY. It's May 23, 2017 and we are last minute studying for the math and science finals. (Not Eva tho bc she doesn't believe in studying.) (Mostly science because I mean who can actually study for math?) Mia, I know that you're freaking out about these finals, but you'll do fine. You and Jillian are talking about the Mandela Effect and The grey squirrel song. Something tells me we'll need that extra credit. Jillian wants to drill Eva's head. You got really excited because we are using each others chrome books. Oops. Eva is being abusive to me and Jillian. And also, you insist on calling your mom "Lia." Now Eva wants to work at a cemetery. Okay This is really random so imma go nowwww. Good Luck Love. ALEKS WAS HEREEEE

Graduation Speech

Hello all family, friends, teachers and Golf Middle School graduates. I can't believe our time at District 67 has come to an end. Even though our time here is over, the memories will stay with us forever. I want to thank my friends, family, teachers and classmates. My friends have helped me come out of my comfort zone and made me laugh non-stop. This year my friends helped me come out of my comfort zone so much that they discovered I was the one distracting my table in Mrs. Joyner's class. All the friendships I've had in these nine years at District 67 have made me the person that I am today. Throughout kindergarten to eighth grade at District 67, with new and old friends, I have made so many amazing memories that I'll never forget. Next, I'd like to thank my family for always being there for me and for supporting me. I wouldn't be anywhere without them, especially my parents. My parents always push me to do the best I can possibly do, and no matter what I

A Letter to My Fifth Grade Self

Dear 5th grade Mia, Don't worry about middle school. It isn't as bad as you think it will be, it isn't scary at all. All of the teachers are nice and your friends will be with you the whole time. You will have more freedom. In sixth grade, my advice to you is to continue reading everyday, because in the future, you will like reading even more. In seventh grade, my advice to you is to make the most of the year because a lot of your friends will be in your class, and just in general it will be a really fun year. In eighth grade, my advice to you is to focus on your work and not distract others, for example at your table in Mrs. Joyner's class. Also, don't be so hard on yourself and just try your best. You'll have a great time in your four very quick years at GMS. Have fun. From, Your future self.

Endings and Beginnings

Some goals I have for the end of the school year are to keep my grades up, do good on final exams, and to end the year on a good note. I want to keep my grades up because they've been really good all year and I want them to stay that way. Also, one of my goals is to do good on final exams because I've been working hard on school work all year. Finally, I want to end the year on a good note by having fun in the last days of ABC countdown, Camp MacLean, the 8th grade dance, and of course graduation. A goal I have for this summer is to spend as much time with my friends from Golf as possible. I know when we go to high school I will see them some times, but I want to spend a lot of time with them while I can and make the good times last.

It's Complicated...

What's complicated for me is school. I like going to school everyday to see my friends and talk to them. But, school is complicated sometimes... Well, most times. Certain subjects are very confusing to me such as Math and Science. I usually have to study for Math and Science a lot when a quiz or test is coming up. I have to study a lot for those subjects because it takes a little while for me to understand what I'm learning. Also, what's complicated about school is homework. Sometimes we get a lot of homework, and sometimes we get 10 minutes worth of homework. Either way, homework is always complicated. Even though school is complicated, one day in the future, I'll be glad I have a good education, and it will all be worth it.

13 Reasons Why

Image
This week's blog post topic is either free write or about PARCC testing. So for free write I decided to write about one of my recent favorite Netflix shows, which is based on one of my favorite books. Thirteen Reasons Why is by far one of the best Netflix shows I've ever watched. First of all the actors are amazing. Dylan Minnete and Katherine Langford look exactly how I imagined Clay and Hannah while reading the book. Although, I will say the show is pretty graphic, and some parts I had to skip through. When I was reading the book, I didn't want to put it down, it was so good.  Thirteen Reasons Why is about a girl named Hannah Baker who makes seven tapes. On the seven tapes are two sides, and each side is "a reason." The reasons are about why she committed suicide. If you like suspenseful books and shows, I highly recommend both the book and the show.  (SPOILERS BELOW) So while watching the show I realized many things that were different than in t

Looking At Cute Pictures Helps You With Tests?

According to research it's been proven watching cute videos or looking at pictures of animals or babies helps students through tests. So enjoy these pictures of these adorable animals to help you with your PARCC testing! (this is Colleen Ballinger's Cat Gus Gus)

A Tribute

A tribute isn't always for a person that has passed away. A tribute could be for anyone who is very special to you. This a tribute for my mom. My mom is always there for me. She has been there for me my whole life. From when I was taken home from the hospital, to today. She helps me through problems and cares for me. She is also very encouraging and supports everything that I do. She always makes me smile when I'm sad, and she never fails to make me laugh. I haven't really had any near-death experiences with my mom, but I don't need an experience like that because I already know that I have an amazing mom. She is honestly one of my biggest role models and one day I hope to be like her.

3 Celebrities I Would Have a Meeting With

If I could have a meeting with three people (dead or alive) I'd have a meeting with Colleen Ballinger/Miranda Sings, Grant Gustin, and Caleb or Hayley LeBlanc. Colleen Ballinger is my idol. I look up to her because she is always so positive and adores her fans. Also I really love her Youtube videos and her character Miranda Sings. Next, I'd have a meeting with Grant Gustin because he is Barry Allen (the main character) on the tv show The Flash, and The Flash is my all-time favorite tv show. Finally, I'd have a meeting with Caleb or Hayley LeBlanc. Caleb sadly died on October 1, 2015, but I still watch his family's Youtube channel Bratayley. Caleb was so funny and made the videos amazing. Hayley is Caleb's 8 year old younger sister who is also really funny and adorable and I would love to meet either of them. I would want to have a meeting with them at Six Flags so after the meeting I could spend the rest of the day with them.

My Favorite Field Trip

My favorite field trip that I have gone on was to Springfield, Illinois last year. We went the day after we took the Constitution test. The only part about it that was bad was that we had to be at school by 5:00 in the morning. Once everyone was at school and got their lanyard to go to the museums and etc, we went outside to our coach buses and sat by our friends. The bus ride was so much fun! Everyone talked with their friends and we all watched movies. When we got to SpringField we went to museums, Abraham Lincoln's house, The Lincoln Tomb,  and even the Capitol building. On that day, my friends and I made so many great memories that I will never forget!

Movie Review

Image
Today I went to the movies and saw Before I Fall with one of my friends. I recently saw the commercial for this movie and I needed to see it, it sounded so good. This movie was actually based on a book by Lauren Oliver, and I highly suggest reading it, it's one of my favorite books, and if you don't like reading, just go see the movie. This movie is about a girl, Samantha Kingston, who keeps re-living the day of her death. She's stuck re-living this day for seven days. She keeps re-living the same day until she figures out what she has to do to get out. This day happens to be her favorite day which is Valentines Day (which they call Cupid Day) and what's kinda weird is that Valentines Day is February 12th in the movie and in the book. This movie was overall pretty good. I liked it, but as always when a book is turned into a movie, they left out some details that I thought were pretty important (I'm not going to list them because I don't want to spo

I Was a Crazy Fangirl

It all started in about fourth grade. My weird obsession for One Direction. Yes, sometimes when I'm very bored I still listen to their music. But now I don't wear their merchandise every day such as my many t-shirts, bracelets, etc. You name it, I had it. I had posters, backpacks, bracelets, keychains, t-shirts, flip-flops, socks, an Ipad case, a phone case, and even a real-size Harry Styles poster. Then near the end of fifth grade my obsession for Five Seconds of Summer started when I started to listen to their music after I finally knew who they were after seeing them as the opening band at my first One Direction concert and having no clue who they were. Well now it's 2017. I have no idea why, but I still have all my old merchandise. I still have some of my old posters up in my room, but when I painted my room a different color last summer, most of my posters were ripped, so I threw them away. I strangely still have all my old shirts, even though I should probably don

3 Goals I Would Have if I were the President of The United States.

If I were President of The United States I would have many goals for myself to try to make our country better, but these three goals would be the main ones I would try my best to achieve. 1. To stop world hunger. This doesn't really apply to The United States but using my power as the President, it would talk to the leaders of other countries to try to find ways to stop world hunger. I would find good programs to provide food for countries that suffer from starvation. 2. To make sure everyone that is unemployed will have a job. I will make sure everyone has a job because every one needs money to provide for their families, and just to take care of themselves in general. 3. For everyone to have equal rights. I would want everyone to have equal rights so that everyone will be happy and be less cruel to each other.
